A dental emergency involves situations that require immediate attention to alleviate severe pain, stop bleeding, or save a tooth. Common dental emergencies include:
- Severe toothache or pain
- Knocked-out tooth
- Broken or cracked tooth
- Loose or lost dental filling or crown
- Abscess or infection
At Dental Studio, our team is equipped to handle a wide range of dental emergencies to provide you with prompt and effective care.
If you have a knocked-out tooth, it is important to act quickly:
- Handle the tooth by the crown (the top part), not the root.
- Rinse the tooth gently with water if it is dirty, but do not scrub or remove any attached tissue.
- If possible, try to place the tooth back in its socket without forcing it. If this is not possible, keep the tooth moist by placing it in a container of milk or saline solution.
- Contact Dental Studio immediately for an emergency appointment.
To alleviate a severe toothache until you can visit Dental Studio:
- Rinse your mouth with warm salt water to reduce inflammation.
- Use dental floss to remove any food particles trapped between teeth.
- Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling.
- Take over-the-counter pain relievers, following the dosage instructions.
- Avoid placing aspirin directly on the tooth or gums.
If you have a broken or cracked tooth:
- Rinse your mouth with warm water to clean the area.
- Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling.
- Save any broken pieces of the tooth if possible.
- Contact Dental Studio immediately for an emergency appointment.
